Cornerback Jalen Ramsey from Brentwood Academy is considering taking an official visit to Tennessee in January.

The Southern California commitment has already taken official visits to Florida, Mississippi State and Washington. USC will receive an official visit on Jan. 18.

Ramsey, who’s ranked the No. 1 prospect in Tennessee by most major recruiting services, told WNML Radio that Tennessee, Florida State and Oregon are schools he’s considering for his fifth official visit.

“I’ll consider Tennessee just as much as I’ll consider Florida State and Oregon for that official because really they’re all at the same point,” Ramsey said.

But Ramsey said Tennessee coach Butch Jones has some catching up to do with less than two months to go until national signing day. Ramsey said he’s heard the “new Tennessee” sales pitch before.

“You just have to see stuff change for Tennessee for me to really have faith in them,” Ramsey said. “Because unlike other recruits and athletes who were raised in Tennessee, I didn’t grow up a Vol fan so it was kind of like for me they were just like every other school. I was going to look at them and if it was best for me then that’s where I was going to go.”
