Barbara Dooley was on the radio in Athens, Ga., on Thursday to defend her youngest son, Tennessee football coach Derek Dooley.

The defense was unnecessary as she misunderstood comments made by show guests Andrew Gribble of the Knoxville News Sentinel and Dave Hooker of ESPN.com. She thought they were saying her “baby” is on the “hot seat” at Tennessee.

Andrew posted a blog entry explaining what he actually said.

Listen below to hear a portion of Barbara’s appearance on WGAU-AM 1340 in Athens. You will not be disappointed.

You may remember Derek Dooley recently placed a radio ban on his mother because he was afraid she would make comments like this. Barbara even admitted to WNML radio host Jimmy Hyams that she slipped up.

But as Clay Travis has pointed out several times, Barbara Dooley is radio gold. And I hope we hear from her again soon.
